Be Creative With Your Spring Doormat!

Show your creativity right at your front door, with this Do-It-Yourself Doormat! Getting tired of your plain-looking doormats? Get your crafts ready and start your very own personalized one.

The very first thing you’ll see when you enter someone’s home is their doorstep, right? Then comes, their doormats. Imagine how cool it would look to have a doormat that shouts out your creative side.

Wondering how to make them? All you have to do is read on below to find step-by-step instructions on how to make these fun and personalized doormats.

Here are the materials that you’ll need to start with:

  • Plain Coir Doormat
  • Contact Paper
  • Computer Paper
  • Permanent Marker
  • Craft Knife
  • Acrylic Craft Paint
  • Stiff Bristled Paint Brush

Now that your materials are complete, let’s start with the first step. Print your desired design onto the computer paper. You can find different templates online. This is where you get to show your creativity. Then, roughly cut around the design.

Next step is to cut off a piece of contact paper that is a little smaller than your purchased mat.

Then, Lay the cut-out letters onto your contact paper and trace around with a marker.

Next step is using your craft knife, cut around the marker outline you just made.

Lastly, use the outside of the contact paper as your stencil. Just hold the contact paper very firmly in the area you’re painting and dab in a downward motion (not side to side sweeping) with your brush using a fair amount of paint.

And voila, you got yourself your own customized DIY Doormat!

Looks easy, right? You can be as creative as you can and find different inspiration for templates online. Just imagine, how your friends will love your new doorstep. You can share with them this easy tutorial as well, just click the share button below.
