Home repairs are much easier than they seem. You could be spending a few hundred dollars for repairs that only require a few minutes of your time, some proper tools, and a bit of Google-ing. This was the trend about a decade ago.
Today, this trend has only gotten better. You can perform most home repairs properly on your own. Read on and learn how.
Toilets aren’t complicated and you’ll be surprised at how easy they are to fix.
Sometimes, toilets will begin to flush “reluctantly”, the same way that the Average Joe tries to drag himself to work on a Monday morning. This is usually caused by the buildup of residue. The solution? Brush the residue off with a stiff-bristle brush.
Other times, you may have water leaks. Simply open the lid of the toilet water tank and lessen the water flow that the ball float allows to fill up. If this doesn’t solve the problem, then you need to buy a replacement flapper at your local hardware store.
Dirty grout is not only unsightly, it’s also… well… dirty. But fear not, because all you really need to do it to remove the old grout and put in new grout. You can either attempt to dig out all the old grout, Neanderthal style, or you can go the modern route and simply use a grout-removal attachment on a power tool.
If you want to inspire a sense of uniformity, then by all means, install color-coordinated grout.
